In a Nutshell:
As our Site Engineer you will manage and report all site engineering requirements as per company policies and processes. You will have relevant experience within the house building industry.

Key Responsibilities -
Adhere to company procedures and statutory regulations relating to environmental and waste management issues.
Provides dimensional control for schemes as and when required.
Provides site teams support by checking levels, coordinates and setting out of roads, sewers and buildings as and when required.
Ensures that appropriate as built surveys for roads and sewers are undertaken, correctly recorded and communicated
Checks dimension/design data early, raising technical queries to eliminate delays from insufficient information
Procure/Manages the survey equipment ensuring it is suitable for the works and in calibration so that there are no dimensional control errors due to survey equipment
Identifies and records non-conformances or safety issues identified during checking process.
Collates and files quality records for potential inclusion in quality assurance documentation
Applies the technical information to help achieve the specified quality requirements
Marks up drawings & specifications with any variations referencing the documentation that verifies the change
Interprets and abstracts construction information from the drawings and specification and provides this to the supervisors and operatives in a clear and understandable way using sketches
Liaison with Local Authority and Water Company personnel in respect of site inspections, reporting etc.
Liaise with subcontractors to ensure snagging/remedial requirements are recorded and completed to the satisfaction of the adopting authority for either roads or sewers.
Prepare and complete inspection reports delineating robustly the extent of remedial work required to adoptable highways.
Communicate with groundwork subcontractors to ensure the construction of the roads and sewers are acceptable to the adopting authority. Responsibilities include frequent site attendance and liaison with the relevant CoW for inspections.
Remedial Management and supervision of road & sewer’s, footpath construction and final surfacing works. Ensuring that the works are carried out within an agreed budget and timescale.
Monitor progress on-site in conjunction with site team to ensure that maintenance is achieved in accordance with the phasing/build programme working closely with the Technical Team
Arrange CCTV surveys for adoptable drainage as and when required.
Prepare summary reports to Engineering Manager for remedial works required to as-built adoptable surface and foul water infrastructure.
To input into the Road Safety Audit process if required by the Engineering Manager.
Secure maintenance and adoption certificates for S38, S104 and S278 to suit the development programme
To liaise closely with Building Department to ensure sites are placed on maintenance in a timely manner and ensure adoptions take place, thereby avoiding over runs on Bonds.
Input into temporary works requirement and solutions utilising experience and acquired knowledge.
Provide feedback to managers on the effectiveness of materials, specialist contractors, plant and designers being used on site.
The role holder will be responsible for the procurement of design and/or checking of temporary works schemes for both contract and tender teams.
In conjunction with the Vistry Engineering Manager ensure that temporary work needs of the business unit are identified and that safe and practical designs are produced. Working with the site, temporary work supervisors ensure that temporary works are correctly and safely constructed, loaded and dismantled in accordance with Vistry Partnerships Temporary Works Policies.
TWC should be the first point of contact between the designers and the site team.
TWC will be responsible for ensuring that VP’s Temporary Works Procedure is implemented on site.
TWC will ensure that all TWs within their appointment scope, are identified, recorded, classified, risk assessed, checked and managed in accordance with VP procedure.
TWC will maintain the site specific TW Register with new, ongoing, completed and accepted by the client and will sign off the permit to load.
TWC will prepare the EDB where the necessary information to produce a design is described and meets all the requirements from site.
TWC must ensure that TW are physically inspected during construction providing checklists where required, and are responsible for reviewing actual conditions against conditions assumed in the TW design
TWC will ensure that all TW are adequately and safely designed, constructed and used, ensuring that those people responsible for the construction of the TW receive full detail of the design
To assist the project team in their production of ‘as-built’ documentation and the Health & Safety File.
Report to Designated Individual on Temporary Works requirements and matters in accordance with Vistry Partnerships Policies and Procedures.
Current full driving.
Current CSCS Card
Strong IT skills, working knowledge of computer systems within the Technical environment.
Articulate, clear and credible, and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally.
