In this newly created role working within a dynamic, friendly and supportive SME culture your focus will be to assist the Engineering Manager with the engineering functions of the business at both sites. There will also be the opportunity to work on projects relating to the build of our new, bespoke manufacturing and pilot plant facility. You will have a strong engineering background gained in the pharmaceutical industry or similar GMP i.e. food or cosmetics. Ideally you will also have an engineering degree and be 6 Sigma Green Belt Certified, or have demonstrable continuous improvement experience.
In summary the role responsibilities will include:
Leading to completion root cause investigations for engineering-related non-conformances, CAPA’s, change controls and associated actions.
Working with Project and Continuous Improvement Engineers to foster a continuous improvement culture within Engineering, utilising DMAIC techniques to reduce the impact on the business from breakdowns and lost performance, identifying potential improvements to efficiency, capacity and reduced cost.
Leading and undertaking capital projects to upgrade and replace the asset base within the company.
Deputising for the Engineering Manager when required.

Qualifications, knowledge, skills & experience required
Engineering degree preferred. Minimum requirement HND.
Six-Sigma Green Belt trained or above preferred.
Strong engineering background in a Pharmaceutical environment or similar GMP
Proven leadership experience
Proven ability to develop teams of people
Understanding of current GMP and HSE requirements
Ability to perform HSE risk assessments (PUWER, LOLER, etc.)
Understanding of DSEAR
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the strength of character to keep a team focussed on meeting goals and objective
Passion for “right-first-time” processes and a determination to understand breakdown/failure root cause and prevent reoccurrence.
Able to negotiate and present own ideas to a wide audience
Adaptable and flexible to cope with the changing needs of the business.
Ability to identify opportunities for process & operational improvements and implement appropriate changes to deliver these benefits.
Strong organising and coordinating skills
