The Person/Skills required:
Candidates will be expected to provide evidence of their ability to work in a pressurised environment whilst meeting tight deadlines and be able to demonstrate that they can make a positive contribution to the Technical team.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects for aviation customers.
Design and develop bespoke safety and survival products.
Choose components and select appropriate materials as part of the design process.
Perform all engineering calculations necessary to verify designs.
Provide technical support to other departments within the organisation.
Give technical guidance to support product quality investigations.
Work to stringent internal and external quality standards.
Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and suppliers.
Provide support to the Technical Manager as required.
BSc (2.1 or higher) in Product Design Engineering or BEng (2.1 or higher) in another related engineering discipline.
Two years’ experience in designing safety and survival equipment for the aviation industry.
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment within the aviation industry.
Experience of working with compressed gas cylinders.
Be able to demonstrate experience of successful project engineering, design engineering and project management.
Experience in delivering projects for large aircraft OEMs.
Experience in using Microsoft Navision ERP system.
Have a high-level degree of IT literacy – including proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD software.
Working knowledge of EASA specifications ETSO 2C70a & 2C505.
Experience in using Microsoft Project.
