To carry out repairs to component level, servicing and testing on a wide variety of electronic and PC based equipment. You will need to have a good understanding on how computers work and have good fault finding, soldering and hand tool skills on a wide range of products. You will also be involved in supporting other areas of the business during upgrades to existing equipment, and development and rollout of new equipment.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Carry out repairs to component level, servicing and testing of a wide range of electronic and PC based equipment.
Fault finding to component level with or without the aid of drawings and circuit diagrams.
Documenting all repairs on customer services databases.
Liaising with Repair Centre management and other departments to deal with problems and inquiries.
Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures. In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.
Skills, knowledge, experience
Previous experience in an electronic repair or production/test environment.
Extensive experience in the use of hand tools & soldering equipment (through hole and SMD).
Experience in the use of electronic test & fault-finding equipment – DVM, Scope, software tools for example.
Previous experience with automatic revenue collection equipment and passenger control systems and hardware.
Some knowledge of software – Loading software or operating systems, retrieving log files, configuring software parameters on a repaired module, analysing logs for example.
Knowledge of ISO9001.
Understanding of ESD protection (Electro Static Discharge).
Experience of PAT testing for electrical safety.
ONC level qualification in an electronic/ PC based discipline as required for the vacancy or relevant experience.
HNC or HND in a related engineering discipline matching the vacancy or relevant experience.
Strong work ethic and desire to deliver excellent service to all internal and external customers.
Ability to communicate well at all levels.
Able to work unsupervised, and as part of a strong team.
Pro-active approach with a “can do” attitude.
Able to perform to targets & deadlines and complete tasks efficiently and to set standards.

Computer literate – knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages, and database system.
