We have an opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our Assurance team based in Wimborne, Dorset.
In this role you will be responsible for complying with and promoting compliance with all applicable Regulatory, Customer and Company Standards and practices including ESD Policy, within the Business.
Host / support customer, third party, regulatory and statutory audits as required for the business
Conduct scheduled product and process audits in support of the Business Management System audit program, including internal and supplier audit schedules required to establish compliance with controlling procedures, Quality Plans and applicable customer requirements
Monitor and verify product and processes by inspection and audit on site or within the Ultra supply chain
Ensure that business activities are conducted in accordance with approved company practice, company certification and approvals, regulatory requirements and contractual obligations and are supported by complete and accurate documentation providing records of verification and traceability
Support supply chain development to ensure project specific requirements are understood, including source inspection to verify requirements have been achieved
Participate in and lead non-conformance management, concession and production permit approval activities, facilitating timely resolution of issues internally and through interaction with customers or supply chain
Assist with the maintenance of Quality Metrics for the activities within the business and participate in or facilitate related continuous improvement activities, including Root Cause Analysis activities to continually drive process and performance improvement
Assist with integration of changes resulting from new or amended Quality Standards and maintain all third party certification and customer approvals relating to the business

Skills and Qualifications Required
Educated to a minimum of BTEC ONC level or equivalent, preferably in a Quality-related discipline. HNC level or higher preferred or suitable experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
Previous experience in a Quality Assurance related position will be essential
Familiarity with BS EN ISO 9001, AS9100 or other manufacturing industry related Quality standards
Knowledge and understanding of other relevant standards where required, for example NQA-1
An understanding of First Article Inspection requirements, with knowledge of AS9102 Aerospace First Article Inspection Requirement
Sound knowledge of Quality management principles and techniques within a manufacturing environment, including a working knowledge of non-conformance management principles and problem solving techniques
Lead Auditor or demonstrable experience of internal and / or supplier audits
Good verbal communication skills, both written and spoken
Experience of hosting / supporting PFMEA activities
Ability to read and understand mechanical engineering drawings, including an understanding of tolerances, geometric tolerances and weld symbols
Prior experience of electronic, electromechanical and precision mechanical manufacturing environments
Prior experience and good understanding of metrology techniques required for the inspection of precision mechanical components
Competent user of Microsoft Office Excel and Word; experience of PowerPoint and Visio
Experience of using ERP systems
