The role

Norton is looking for a well experienced individual (Senior Principal Or Principal) with a hands-on approach and can-do attitude. Must have the ability to manage and oversee significant elements of design projects, handle data and software alongside building a team. This could be overall design responsibility of a NVH platform or ownership of a design and development area. You will also be responsible for your areas from concept to production and have responsibility for managing, mentoring and developing a team of engineers and their workloads. The individual should be able to plan, test and measure processes sufficiently.

This role will report to the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) and handle creating this exciting project of building the department in a constructive way.

Duties/Responsibilities

Develop vehicles to work alongside Homologation legislation

Make sure all vehicles to successfully pass NVH testing which may link to homologation

Create a strong NVH customer interface to allow any questions to be dealt with efficiently and effectively

Plan and manage NVH project activities

Being able to provide support to engineering teams in the UK and India

Working closely with the component engineers to deliver targets

Planning the tuning, demonstration, validation and deployment of the agreed systems

Be responsible for benchmarking and target setting

Make sure that the NVH performance target is delivered by collaborating with the launch team

Managing the delivering reports from the team, to report back to the CEO/CTO and Senior Engineering Management Team

Knowledge of vibration reduction techniques and structure-borne road noise as well as Principal Component and Modal Analysis is essential

Leadership of teams to deliver NVH targets and resolve of any issues by meeting accurately and sufficiently the targets

Being able to support vehicle NVH development and Acoustic Package commodity

Understanding of Engineering (chassis, powertrain and electrical) to deliver the best quality and performance

Ability to identify problems and lead to resolution
