We are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our team in Scotland, in the Glasgow area. The geographical patch to be covered is the 'G' and 'ML' postcodes.
Working with everything from small pallet trucks, through to IC trucks, VNA trucks and automated trucks, you will be required to find, diagnose and rectify faults, and undertake preventative maintenance on Linde forklifts and other material handling equipment at our customer sites.
What we offer:
To find, diagnose and rectify faults on customer FLT’s as deemed necessary, with all that this entails, and order the necessary spare parts as efficiently as possible
To adhere to all company H&S and Environmental and site policies, procedures and practices and ensure we operate in an environmentally safe workplace.
Ensure K1SS and all paperwork/IT systems are completed accurately and within the stipulated time period and with the relevant order numbers.
Liaise with the first line of management for authorisation of parts and process order numbers accordingly.
Work under own initiative without constant supervision.
To ensure all allocated work is adhered to and to notify Manager or Controller if in arrears.
Ensure that the specified Engineering Standards and Safe Working Practices and all Company Policies and Procedures are followed at all times.
To ensure that all stock levels/movement records are accurate and correct.
To obtain hour meter readings /site information as requested by Controllers.
Ensure all company issued equipment is kept in a satisfactory condition and report any failures.
To take on any reasonable additional duties as required by the Manager to ensure the smooth running of the department.
Any other duties which arise as a result of duties as above.
Tasks and Qualifications:
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for vehicle technicians or mechanical engineers who have experience working as a forklift technician, plant fitter, plant technician, vehicle technician or a similar type of role. Experience within plant equipment, powered access equipment, agricultural machinery, motor vehicles or industrial cleaners may make this role perfect for you!
To be considered for this role, you will need experience in at least one of the following areas:
Ideally you will have an NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) qualification
You will need to be IT literate and able to use latest technology to keep accurate records and place orders
Must hold a full UK driving licence
You will need to have the following personal attributes:
Good communication skills to liaise with our customers and your internal colleagues
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Take pride in your work and complete tasks to the highest standard
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
A positive and can-do attitude
