A new vacancy has arisen for a Wintel Engineer to join our existing team. Please note this role will require 24/7 shift coverage.
Cross-technology skilled & experienced engineer who can lead on often complex tasks.
Work closely with developers, architects, project managers and stakeholders in a DevOps model of working. This includes rapid releases, continuous improvement, very close collaboration and a willingness to learn and deliver.
Establish, complete accurate documentation of server builds, operating parameters and support processes.
Install and configure hardware, including rack-mounted servers and blades.
Install and configure software solutions
Review and input into solutions prior to execution.
Essential Knowledge and Skills Required:
Windows Server 2003 through to 2019
Windows KMS and Windows WDS Server
Desirable skills and knowledge/certifications
Any Microsoft / Citrix / VMWare certification
Storage Technologies – DELL\EMC\HP
5 years experienced working in Wintel environment
Must have analytical skills and be able to solve technical problems across different platforms.
Certified industry courses eg MCSE
Agile/DevOps/Scrum project delivery
Experience of IT security, Patching, WSUS
Experience in remote deployment technologies
Experience of supporting a large VMWare estate
Experience of Group Policy / Preferences and Active Directory
Candidates should possess at least Disclosure Scotland / BPSS clearance or be willing to undertake appropriate security vetting to achieve.
