Who we’re looking for: We are looking for Data Engineers who have a genuine interest designing and developing scalable solutions, have experience in delivery that contributes to wider business outcomes and be able to concisely articulate to stakeholders and interested parties their role and solutions in a way that can be easily understood.

What you need to have: (essentials):Data engineering and cloud engineering experience:
Highly skilled in multiple languages (examples include SQL, Python, Java, Scala)
Hands on experience of doing so in the cloud (ideally one of AWS, GCP, Azure)
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a data engineer using the above
Previous experience in industry or as a developer (SQL Developer as an example)
Knowledge & Experience Requirements (need to have one or more of the below):
Have enhanced cloud experience: 2 years minimum
Experience working with more than one public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) with a good understanding of the native tools for said providers (examples include Redshift, Data Factory, Big Query)
Certified to practitioner level in at least one provider
Have enhanced techniques and principles experience: 2 years minimum
Experience delivering multiple solutions using key techniques such as Data Modelling, Data Warehousing, ETL, ELT, Virtulisation, Streaming (also understands the principles behind these)
Knowledge of development principles and best practice with experience using version control tooling (such as Git)
Skills in specific tools: (2 years minimum)
Experience working with multiple data engineering tools outside of those native to public cloud providers (examples include Spark, Kafka, Snowflake)
Experience working with the Hadoop ecosystem (Spark, Hive/ Impala, Databricks)
Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL foundational tools and databases (Cassandra, MongoDB etc) and large unstructured dataset
Flexibility to travel to and work on client sites within the UK and occasionally Europe
A desire to learn new tools

Having a good network of people within data engineering and technical communities
