Graduate Process Engineer
The Process Engineering Group at KBR is committed to consistently providing quality engineering solutions to our customers, covering Front End Engineering (Conceptual Design and FEED) as well as detailed engineering on a wide variety of process facilities located both offshore and onshore. As a Gold Corporate Partner of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), we are formally recognised by the IChemE as a company that provides excellent support to young engineers through their early career development, leading to Chartered Chemical Engineer status.
At the heart of projects
Our Process Engineers work on and contribute to a wide range of projects, from onshore to offshore process plant design. The process engineering team is at the heart of the design of the project. Process engineers use their technical expertise and problem solving skills to find optimum technical solutions whilst working alongside other engineering disciplines to ensure a robust, economic and safe design.
Process Engineers gain exposure to a range of hydrocarbon processing technologies on these projects, including in many cases state-of-the art design approaches. The process engineering discipline covers a wide variety of tasks from simulation of processes through to specifying the details of equipment and piping items.
The Process Engineering Group at KBR has extensive experience in both Front End Engineering (FEED) and Detailed Design / EPC Projects and embodies a culture of challenge and innovation. In addition to extensive capabilities in process engineering design across both upstream and downstream sectors, the group also includes expertise in specialist areas of expertise such as Dynamic Simulation.
Opportunities within Process engineering
Our Process Engineers range from recent University graduates in Chemical Engineering through to Process Engineering consultants with many years’ experience, covering onshore and offshore oil & gas processing, LNG, offsites and utilities, refining and petrochemicals. We provide challenging opportunites for our engineers on projects and help them develop technical and leadership skills, whilst ensuring they are provided with the support they need to develop these skills. Our aim is to support the engineer in gaining wide ranging experience in the many different aspects of process design so that engineers can have a varied and stimulating career.
Most of our senior engineers are Corporate Members of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (MIChemE) and Chartered Engineers (CEng), with many of our most senior engineers being Fellows of the Institution (FIChemE). We actively encourage and support our graduate engineers in gaining corporate membership, and operate an IChemE Approved Company Training Scheme (ACTS) for our process graduates. Many of our Process Engineers have gained experience in overseas locations, including on-site in countries such as Norway, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Azerbaijan and Australia, where they have played a key role in process plant detailed engineering design and construction activities as well as commissioning-support and related activities.
