The Network Security Engineer L2 is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of network security and network infrastructure solutions at an L2 level.
The position includes the testing, evaluation, development and maintenance of security policies, procedures and systems. Ensure that security architecture/designs, plans, controls, processes, standards, policies and procedures are aligned with IT security standards. Identifies security risks and exposures, determine the causes of security violations and suggest procedures to halt future incidents and improve security. Develop techniques and procedures for the investigation and resolution of security incidents. Implement security policies and takes measures against intrusion, frauds, attacks or leaks.
Deploy network firewalls, IPS, F5, and network route and switch infrastructure.
Provide diagnosis and advanced troubleshooting when required
Develop and executes security controls, defenses and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate company systems (e.g., email, data, e‐commerce and/or other internal or external customer facing systems).
Maintaining and administering perimeter security systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and next generation security innovations.
Performing analysis of network security needs, designing, integrating, and installing hardware and software that adheres to network architecture compliance standards and company policies.
Research and test network management and monitoring products and tools to maintain currency and enhance functionality.
Assist the development of security tool requirements, trials, and evaluations, as well as security operations procedures and processes.
Coordinate and analyzes compliance with regulations.
Engage on Business Unit projects to elicit security and network requirements, specifications and project scope.
Design and/or adapts security policies.
Research efforts to compromise systems security and designs countermeasures.
Provide input to management on the acquisition of the new hardware and/or software required to meet new regulatory functions or to handle the expected load increases.
Maintain and update relevant system, operations, and process documentation and reporting.
Perform short-term and long-term network capacity planning.
Deep expertise with network protocols including TCP/IP, EIGRP, and BGP
Strong analytical, design, engineering, planning and problem-solving skills
Experience with network security technologies, including:
Firewall Technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto)
SSL Concentrators (Pulse Secure)
Intrusion Detection/Prevention (Sourcefire, Palo Alto)
Network forensics (Wireshark, Observer, SIEM)
Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills, including proficiency with Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel
CCNP/CCDP and Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related discipline is required.
Palo Alto, F5, or Cisco certifications.
Cisco Nexus experience.
F5 ASM experience or equivalent WAF experience.
RSA SecurID or equivalent MFA experience.
Security background or similar experience.
Azure or other cloud deployment experience.
5+ years’ experience working in complex IP network environments
4-year degree or equivalent
