About the Team
Working in a team of 5, you will be supporting both our head office and multi-site IT estate that in turn service our 500+ retail stores.
About the Role
In this role, you will work with a variety of technologies that are used to ensure our retail stores and their wider business functions operate correctly and optimally. You’ll get involved with the estate-wide deployment of our in-house developed retail software, provide third-line infrastructure support to our retail systems and deliver IT and business driven projects.
Support activities include proactive system monitoring, incident management and resolution, change/problem/request management, disaster recovery and capacity management.
Development activities include delivery of new server/infrastructure platforms and solutions that meet Next’s business and security requirements. You will use physical and virtualised server platforms, deploying core Microsoft/Internet services using scripted/automated builds utilising SCCM.
There are flexible working options available with this role, including home working.
Experience of supporting a multi-site enterprise IT environment and providing third line support of servers, workstations and peripherals.
A track record in developing, implementing and maintaining a resilient Windows Server infrastructure. This includes Active Directory, Site Topologies, DNS and DHCP.
Windows Failover Clustering.
PowerShell scripting knowledge.
Internet Information Services (IIS).
SQL Server 2012.
Microsoft SCCM and SCOM.
Experience of working with Microsoft Hyper-V technologies.
Experience of IT change management and configuration management processes.
Industry recognised qualifications such as MCP, MCSE.
HP/Dell Server Hardware Experience.
Experience of IT estates in a retail environment.
Experience of SOTI MobiControl Mobile Device Management.
An understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
Project management & planning principles.
