About the role
These are exciting times at Crawley Borough Council, with a brand new Town Hall building scheduled for completion early in 2022, an ambitious Transformation Programme to deliver new ways of working and a very large programme of ICT projects to support these plans.
The ICT Team is looking to recruit an additional Infrastructure Engineer on a fixed term contract for 1 year, to join the Digital and Transformation Division with supporting and delivering this ambitious programme of work. This includes a migration to the Public Cloud, Unified Comms, a focus on channel shift and many other large projects as well as delivering our ‘Business as Usual’ service.
Reporting to the Enterprise Infrastructure Manager, you will work on specific projects as well as providing day to day support to the business. Along with the broad experience, knowledge and skills we are looking for (listed within the job description and person specification), we are particularly interested in good all-rounders who have strengths in one of the following; Networking, MS 365 & Windows O/S, VMWare or Storage (technical skillset).
Applicants should be able to demonstrate significant experience of working in an infrastructure / ICT team in a technical role.
The role will be based at the council’s Town Hall in Crawley but at times you will be required to travel between sites within and around the Crawley borough; the post will also require occasional out of hours working at evenings or weekends.
The postholder will also be required to undertake a baseline personnel security standard (BPSS) check in order to perform some of the duties of this role.
