We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Mechanical engineering team based in Wimborne, Dorset.
In this role you will be responsible for providing robust engineering solutions and services across various mechanical projects, which meet Ultra business unit manufacturability, quality and schedule requirements.
Develop, test and validate mechanical solutions across a variety of projects.
Apply principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, and material science as required.
Use analytical techniques and recognised tools to design out potential design and process failures.
Assess project requirements and agree budgets, timescales and specifications with customer and/or Engineering Team Lead.
Produce technical drawings for manufacture and installation, to national and internationally recognised standards.
Create technical reports and documentation to support manufacture as required.
Collaborate with customers, suppliers, sub-contractors and internally, through open and shared communication.

Skills and Qualifications Required
A minimum of HNC/HND qualified in a Mechanical/Aerospace/Automotive Engineering or similar discipline.
Experience in the design and assembly of products designed to operate in harsh environmental conditions.
Ability to communicate complex aspects of designs verbally and graphically.
A strong working knowledge of 3D modelling software such as Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks or similar.
Knowledge of analytical simulation techniques such as FEA, CFD, etc.
Experience working with BoMs and detailed drawing packs.
Experience working with a variety of mechanical manufacturing processes and assembly techniques including welding, brazing and high vacuum would be advantageous.
Knowledge of radioactive materials would be advantageous.
