What we’re looking for:
We are looking for two Pricing Analyst Developers to join our office in Leeds! The role will require excellent communication skills, it goes without saying that you should be a great teammate but also be able to use your own initiative and be able to progress work independently!
The successful candidate will have good knowledge of one or more of the following Alteryx, Tableau, R and or SAS (base and macro) or SQL. Ideally you will have worked within a similar pricing or analytical role. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a numerically-focused degree.
Who you'll be working with:
You will be working closely with either the Motor or Complex pricing teams, this roles reports into the Data & Mi Manager. It is important you understand the pricing team objectives and are able to convey this understanding when developing pricing datasets and MI for these teams. You will liaise with other teams in DLG to ensure data and visualisation strategies are aligned across the business.
What you'll be doing:
You will support your team in providing an innovative and effective analytical modelling and pricing platform, using blending and reporting tools such as Alteryx and Tableau with a focus on in depth analysis of data and delivery of modelling/pricing recommendations for various commercial disciplines.
Plan, lead and deliver specific tasks and projects in a dedicated, timely and accurate manner, providing insights, impacts and recommendations
You will assist with the development of Alteryx based processes to support the Data & MI Manager and Head of Pricing & Underwriting Development to deliver modelling benefits to Commercial Lines
Build, Support and help further develop Alteryx based data models and management information reporting
You'll provide analytical support and insight to inform business decisions and strategy, with a responsibility for ensuring robustness of output
Find opportunities for improvements to enable tasks to be performed in a more efficient manner. Challenge current processes appropriately with suggestions as to how these can be refined
Suggest recommendations to improve DLG’s pricing performance and longer-term pricing capability.
Assist with the development of pricing models and ensure their appropriate use and application. Monitor the effectiveness of models on an ongoing basis to ensure they are fit for purpose and suggest areas of development
Develop knowledge of pricing and underwriting systems and processes; develop your business, market knowledge and awareness of relevant industry issues which impact your area & incorporate in the work that you do
