Are you looking for progression and the opportunity to work on modern technologies? We're looking for a Junior Web Developer to join our friendly and passionate Digital team. We're all working remotely at the moment however this role is normally based within our Huddersfield headquarters.
In this role you'll support the ongoing development and management of the SimplyBiz web infrastructure, including all websites owned by the SimplyBiz family of companies. You'll also work alongside external third party web design and development companies to ensure our sites and solutions are best in class for existing and potential members. What you'll be doing
Developing new user-facing features
Maintaining and improving a suite of websites
Assisting the Web Project Manager with all aspects of website design
Collaborating with third party developers to implement new web features
Keeping up-to-date with the latest technology and programming trends
Converting video, audio, written, and graphic components into compatible formats for the web
Working with internal teams to develop comprehensive briefs for site changes/updates developments
Liaising with third-party to develop sites in line with provided briefs as required
Managing all required internal testing of sites
Monitoring and management of website content updates with SEO in mind
Collating feedback from, and build solutions for, users and customers
Helping back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting
Ensuring high quality graphic standards and brand consistency
What you need to succeed
A proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
A good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them
Experience working with coding languages such as HTML5, CSS and Java abilities
Experience in Umbraco, Kentico and Mura CMS
Solid understanding of web design and development principles
Good planning, analytical, and decision-making skills
Knowledge of software prototyping and UX design tools
Solutions driven and self-motivated
Comfortable working under pressure
Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workloads
Willingness to learn
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with multiple departments and stakeholders
Attention to detail
Understanding of digital marketing channels and tools (particularly Microsoft suite including D365) desirable for integrations
