Salary: £33,850 - £45,000 DOE

We design and manufacture a wide range of products, materials and tools to support our mission. Our operations include precision component manufacture, fabrication, explosive formulation, fissile material production, rubbers and plastics, and warhead assembly and disassembly.
The role of a CAM Programmer at AWE is to provide manufacturing engineering solutions in the area of CNC programming, NC Tool assemblies / drawing creation, verification, part prove out, workshop support & manufacturing engineering support to customers to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems in accordance with appropriate procedures and legislation within a highly regulated environment.
Ideally candidates will have previous experience within some of the following:
Good knowledge on various manufacturing processes
Understand the engineering definitions and develop sequential manufacturing process for better results in achieving right at first time
Good decision-making capabilities in preparation of process
Ability to generate cutting tool path and NC program code
Expertise in feature-based machining, turning, 3, 4 and 5 Axis milling, turnmill & VMC 4th & 5th axis fixed or continuous
Expertise in low volume high value production with a background in CAD/CAM.
Expertise in selection of cutting tools & cutting parameters for a vast range of materials including Steel, Aluminium, Titanium, Tungsten & Nickel alloy materials
Expertise on various CNC controls (Siemens & Heidenhain)
Expertise in analysis of NC codes post processing
Expertise in using simulation/verification software
Ability to create tool 3D models, assemblies and drawings
Fully conversant in reading engineering drawings with an ability to interpret GD&T from model-based definition and legacy drawings
Ability to read and understand specifications and standards
Ability to execute tasks in line with the quality procedures and production methodologies
Work with cross-functional teams, local experts, partners and suppliers to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing processes are understood and accounted for as required
Able to support root cause analysis and implementation of problem-solving techniques
Experience of using Teamcenter and NX
Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
