Apprenticeship Maintenance Engineer

What you will enjoy doing
Position, assemble, install and dismantle plant & equipment which could include motors, switch gear, cables, conductors, pumps, valves, gearboxes, pipework to agreed specification
Replace, repair and/or remove components and ensure its return to operational condition
Inspect and maintain plant & equipment to meet operational requirements
Comply with industry Health, Safety & Environment working practices and regulations

Minimum of five National 5 qualifications at Grade C or better, including Mathematics, English and a Science or Technology based subject. Higher level qualifications would be an advantage

The Apprenticeship programme will provide you with the skills, knowledge and behaviours you need to become a fully qualified Maintenance Engineering Technician. Working with experienced BOC Engineers and Service/Maintenance Technicians you will be applying your skills and knowledge to real life situations and play a vital part in maintaining and improving the services of BOC. You will benefit from a fully structured apprenticeship programme with on and off the job training through a combination of academic and vocational skill development. You will get a recognised SVQ Level 2 & 3 qualifications with the opportunity to be supported through Higher Education to obtain both an NC & HNC. On the job mentoring and coaching from highly skilled professionals as well as off the job training at a local education establishment to develop the knowledge and theory to enable you to apply your skills in the workplace. The opportunity to contribute to local Community Projects – helping to improve the lives of others and to be part of the early talent community within BOC and act as an education ambassador working with local schools to inspire students and their teachers to support the STEM sector.
