IT Service plays a vital part in the success of our business strategy. In the role of Application Owner, you will lead, motivate and develop a small team of support analysts and engineers in delivering service excellence to our customers through everything we do. In this pivotal role, in depth background in Guidewire technologies, GOSU and Java based technologies is a necessity, as is experience managing disparate teams in our offices in the UK and offshore resources.
Working under the Application Manager, your fresh ideas will be welcomed and together you will streamline the productivity of an already dynamic team. With direct line management of your Application Support Team, you will be a positive mentor to maximise incident and problem management, ensuring support to some of LV=’s critical General Insurance business.
Collaboration is key! You will work closely with change counterparts to on-board project change and regular release activities; collaborating with third parties and infrastructure teams to ensure a high quality of service is provisioned. Liaising with key business stakeholders to understand and accommodate business needs is an important aspect of the role, whilst maintaining service levels, minimising outages and managing production incidents.
You will be the face of the team to the wider business, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and presenting service reports; influencing decisions through effective communication and presentation skills is key. This is an opportunity for you to work closely with line management to maximise the efficiency of the application support provision.
The GI Application Owner (Guidewire) will provide consultancy for internal and external auditors, ensuring adherence to industry standards, frameworks and best practices are embedded within our group processes.
You have already had experience of building high performing remote based teams within an IT change or Service Delivery domain, and are now seeking a new challenge to utilise your skills in this area. Your hands on Guidewire technical experience has allowed you to take the lead, mentoring others and hold line management responsibilities, as well as producing metrics and managing stakeholders’ expectations. Taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture, you can oversee application support day to day responsibilities, as well having attention to the smaller technical details to evaluate and improve the provision the team delivers.

We’re looking for a likeable role model with a positive approach to line management – a mentor and coach who fits with the LV= values of inclusivity and support. You will be a leader: someone who can support and encourage their colleagues’ self-development and progression. You are used to being a positive role model, and can create motivation in pressured times.
You lead by example, demonstrating expert user level capability, ideally ITIL Certified, and have the ability to digest large and abstract problems allowing you to translate technical jargon into actionable business recommendations.
We are looking for someone with the ability to communicate well both written and verbal to stakeholders at all levels of technical ability and seniority: from technicians to senior management. As the face of the team, you’ll be a natural presenter with good experience of presentation tools to deliver performance reports to key business stakeholders.
