Information on Degree Apprenticeships
Degree apprenticeships are a new way of studying for a degree. They offer a fully-funded pathway to higher education and a professional qualification, paid for by the government and the employer; students aren`t required to pay University tuition fees.
For more information on the Civil Engineer Degree Apprenticeship, please visit the Institute for Apprentices website https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/civil-engineer-degree/
A degree apprenticeship combines the undergraduate, university experience with paid employment and industrial experience. As a graduate of this programme, you can expect to leave with a University of Warwick degree, a professional qualification and zero student debt. During the degree programme you will benefit from the academic rigour and state-of-the-art facilities that a top class university can offer, and be part of an ambitious, diverse and high achieving student body.
The Civil Engineering and Infrastructure Degree Apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of residential courses at Warwick University, blended learning through a Virtual Learning Environment and work-based projects over a 5 year period. There are six, one-week blocks of teaching on campus each year and, during the residential week, you will attend lectures, seminars, participate in laboratories and spend time with your academic tutors.

Who do we look for?
We need grafters who’ll get stuck into the job. Sometimes things get tough. There are lots of ups and downs in an industry like ours: projects can change; you can run into some pretty big obstacles (like, say, elephant remains on your building site). So we need people who aren’t fazed by that: you get your nose down and you work hard, whatever comes your way.
Go-getters who own their development. We support our apprentices and graduates, and we recognise their successes, but nothing’s going to be handed to you on a plate here. If you want a promotion, you’ve got to work for it, and if you want to learn something, it’s up to you to pursue it.
Above all, we need people who believe in our values:
One Family, One Team, One Murphy
Integrity – Respect for All
Salary and Benefits
We’re a family firm and we look after each other. No beating about the bush here: that means looking after you financially too.
£18,000 per annum (to increase upon each year of completion of the course)
Company Pension Scheme
27 Days Annual Leave
Staff Bonus (dependent on individual and company performance)
Cycle to Work Scheme
2 Volunteering Days per annum (paid)
As a Construction and Civil Engineering company we have project sites, big and small, based all over the UK. From Glasgow to Gosport we want you to experience as much as possible when you join our Apprenticeship programme, there are a whole host of skills and competencies we want you to experience and for that we need you to be fully flexible on location. As part of our graduate programme, we will be rotating you every 9-12 months around our projects so that you can maximise your learning experience and exposure to your field of study.
3 A Levels including Mathematics – Grades AAB or;
BTEC Extended Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent
Due to the nature of the work and size of our sites we require you to have or be working towards achieving a full clean UK driving license.
