AECOM is seeking to hire a Principal Traffic Engineer who will be responsible for the delivery of traffic engineering, local transport, urban design/streetscape schemes in our Traffic and Local Roads Streets team. We would consider the role on either a full or part-time basis and are happy to look at a range of different working patterns.
+ Applicants should have a successful track record in the management and delivery of a portfolio of traffic engineering, local transport, urban design/streetscape and local authority/municipal highway schemes
+ An ability to demonstrate high level of experience and expertise in Preliminary and detailed design including 3D design
+ Ensure technical content and quality of output produced is in line with the project brief.
+ Lead the preparation preliminary or detailed design and project delivery of traffic engineering, local transport, urban design/streetscape and local authority/municipal highway schemes
+ Lead the preparation of detailed technical reports providing specialist technical contributions as required.
+ Monitor team skills and ensure they are up to date with current best practice, techniques and innovation.
+ Support Senior Management of Local Roads team.
+ Manage career progression of line reports.
+ Actively recruit to grow the team.
+ Prepare detailed client briefs and fee proposals and contribute to major bids.
+ Develop new and existing client relationships.
+ Preparation of technical reports and checking work/specifications of junior staff.
+ A successful track record in the management and delivery of a portfolio of traffic engineering, local transport urban design/streetscape and local authority/municipal highway schemes.
+ Experience in the design of cycle infrastructure in the urban/suburban environment
+ Excellent technical and communication skills.
+ an ability to demonstrate high level of experience and expertise in the following areas:
+ Preliminary design (detailed/3D design desirable)
+ Applying relevant design standards including good working knowledge of LCDS
+ Leading single and multi-disciplinary projects as project manager/ task leader.
+ HND, Degree or Master or equivalent qualification in an analytical subject such as Engineering, Mathematics or Geography
