You will be a member of a multi-discipline cross-functional scrum team.
You will make a contribution to the test strategy for projects, which is likely to include BDD styled cucumber/gherkin/Java based functional, system integration testing and non-functional testing (Volume & Performance and Resilience & Availability). You will discover ways to break the product that other developers may not have thought of.
Setting up, maintaining, and performing test automation frameworks on multiple application platforms will be fundamental to the role. You will also identify which tests can be automated, agreeing the risk based prioritisation of the automation of these tests as part of the delivery lifecycle.
You will ensure there is traceability from business requirements to acceptance criteria from the start of the programme and they are demonstrable.
You will also engage in other testing activity as appropriate automating tests where possible.
Duties will include:
Driving innovation in automation, looking for improvements in tool adoption and seeking opportunities to leverage test tools for greater efficiency.
Setting up, maintaining, and performing test automation frameworks on multiple application platforms.
Collaborate with various stakeholders and your scrum team to devise the appropriate approach.
Contribute to the design & development of the overall test strategy and vision, including the tools and technologies needed to support the strategy.
Key contributor & to be part of an effective team. Work with iterative deployments, as part of a scrum team.
The position would suit somebody with the following skills.
- Excellent communication, time management & organisation skills.
- Highly adept at problem-solving.
- Someone with a team ethos and a passion for Agile methodologies.
- Proven experience in functional and non-functional automated testing
- Previous technical testing experience in an Agile environment (BDD/ATDD is essential)
- Automation testing experience with the ability to contribute to test automation using open source technologies, such as Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin
