A great opportunity for a forward thinking, innovative engineer to take the skills learnt at university, college or through an apprenticeship and apply them within industry transferring the academic principles into real life solutions.
This role will help you develop into a multi-skilled Engineer and allow you exposure to several aspects of Engineering. You will be required to generate concept designs and present them, develop the concepts into feasible solutions that fit the brief. Create manufacturing drawings at component and assembly level, place purchase orders, check parts upon receipt, prototyping and testing, work with third parties to certify the equipment, work with other departments to ensure a smooth handover into production.
Work on a variety of development projects both as part of a team and alone.
Generate new concepts and assess designs.
Assist the team’s ongoing projects with drawings and testing.
Review concepts and offer ideas for solutions to any issues.
Evaluate product viability through manufacture and costing.
Management of specific development projects from initial design to product launch.
Continually look for improvements in products and processes.
Assist other departments within the business with technical queries.
Skills and experience required:
Honours Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent qualification.
Exposure to a workplace environment would also be advantageous.
Ability to read and produce engineering manufacturing drawings.
Experience of CREO (Pro-Engineer) would be preferable, but any 3D package would be acceptable.
A keen eye for detail and problem solving.
Degree level understanding of manufacturing, with some practical hands-on experience.
Confident communication and interpersonal skills are needed as is the ability to interface effectively with customers, supplier and other departments.
You must be proficient with the MS Office suite.
