TT Electronics’ Bedlington facility north of Newcastle upon Tyne is the home of two TT Electronics divisions; Sensors & Specialist Components and Power Electronics. Sensors & Specialist Components are leaders in high reliability, high performance and engineered electronic components. Power Electronics provide custom power solutions for safety-critical applications in harsh environments. The team in Bedlington specialises in microcircuit production for the aerospace and defence industries.

Role Overview and Responsibilities:
We have a vacancy within our Power Electronics division for an Electronics Test Engineer. In this position the successful candidate will be responsible for new product introductions, providing day to day production support for existing products, as well as being accountable for implementing process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
The successful candidate will be required to spend periods of time at a sister site (UK) as part of their induction and extended training.
Reporting directly to the Principle Test Engineer, key duties and responsibilities will include:-
Evaluate and interpret customer test specifications.
Design, purchase and construct appropriate test hardware.
Generate test code to control instrumentation and perform automated testing.
Produce technical documentation such as circuit diagrams, test procedures and operating instructions.
Provide training and support to production operators.
Support production with fault diagnosis and on-going yield analysis.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:
Minimum HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years experience in an electronics production environment.
Familiar with a programming language such as Labview, C++ or Visual Basic.
Good fault diagnosis skills down to component level.
Experience using test instrumentation such as Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators and Digital Multimeters.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team, but able to tackle solo projects when needed.
Use of MS Excel, MiniTab or similar.
Desireable Skills and Experience
Experience using NI Labview or NI TestStand
Knowledge of remote Instrumentation control.
Experience using Schematic Capture and PCB layout software
Use of soldering / de-soldering equipment.
