Main Purpose of the Job:
Be part of a flexible, motivated, proactive and positive team, supporting the site engineering and maintenance manager to deliver equipment/machinery and facilities projects, on time and in budget. Projects are largely aimed at enabling the production team to meet their goals and general facilities or machine upgrades.The job will have you liaising across various business department to deliver manufacturing / equipment / building infrastructure solutions requiring a variety of different solutions and resources, internal and external. Support the engineering maintenance manager in day to day activities such as delivery of team goals, projects and implementation of new or improved processes, evaluate suppliers and contractors and maintaining new or current processes
Work closely with Production & Maintenance Teams to define and deliver projects.
Create, develop & submit for approval Capital request documents.
Create and manage time plans including internal and external resource.
Manage budgets and report on under or over spend. Identify lessons learned and future preventative measures or additional spec requirements form overspends.
Specify, purchase, install & commission new machinery, equipment, tools & processes to improve or maintain the manufacturing processes.
Complete or support SOP creation for new machines and processes implemented as part of projects.
Control & selection of contractors & equipment suppliers.
Improve & maintain factory layout, plant register and other engineering processes.
Identify & implement process improvement with the aid of data management techniques.
Support implementation of CMMS system
Support implementation of TPM
Supervising external contractors where necessary.
Maintain Capital project budgetary control.
HNC or Degree with experience of manufacturing industry and project management
Preference given to those who have a time served apprenticeship.; HNC or Degree with experience of manufacturing industry
Skills & Experiences:
Experience working as a Project Engineer
Experience delivering Equipment & Buildings projects
Supplier / contractor negotiations
Budget definition and budget management
Experience in CAD systems (3D preferred, 2D essential)
Lean manufacturing techniques
Knowledge and experience of the CDM Regs
NEBOSH/IOSH Training (preferred)
Strong problem solving & analytical skills. Out of the box thinking.
Good communication skills and note taking
Competent in the use of computers
Must be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team
Normal Working Hours:
Mon,Tues,Wed,Thurs Hours: 8:00 to 17:00
Fri Hours: 08:00 to 13:00
The post holder would be required to work the hours necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.
