This exciting opportunity will allow you to further your career as an Engineer joining our small in-house sewerage design team based in Bath. Liaising with the team and the wider business you will be undertaking investigations of capacity issues within the sewer network.
You will be responsible for:
working on specific engineering tasks as directed under the supervision of a principal engineer
commissioning surveys for Wessex Water sewerage assets
ascertaining causes of sewerage flooding and developing high level solutions to solve them
technical report writing
the detailed analysis of data using Excel/Access
site investigation and studies into other problems within the sewer networks; for example, assisting with pollution, infiltration and inflow studies
using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and hydraulic modelling software
assisting the sewer network modelling team with flow surveys, and model build and verification as directed
assisting the network design team with optioneering, outline and detailed design when required.
What do I need?
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise their own workload effectively.
In addition, you will have:
strong IT skills
experience using modelling software (InfoWorks ICM)
qualifications to at least Degree level in a relevant engineering, or science/ or mathematical based subject.
a working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
a valid UK driving licence
And ideally also have:
optioneering/outline design experience (sewerage networks)
attained or be working towards chartered status in an appropriate professional institution
