We are looking for a candidate who is or who wants to become an expert in cyber-security, cloud, email and data protection.
You will deliver exciting and informative product demonstrations to potential and current Proofpoint customers, primarily via remote web conferences but also occasionally on customer site, so some travel will be required.
Once in a while, you may also be called upon to assist in professional services deployments, technical training, and industry seminars and/or trade shows.
This position is based in our Reading office and will report into our UK based Inside Sales Engineering Manager.
Collaborate with Proofpoint sales professionals as well as channel partners, to help position and deliver industry leading cyber-security products and services to our customer base.
Take the lead as the customer’s technical main point of contact through the entire sales cycle. This may include technical Q&A, proof-of-concept, competitive bake-off scenarios, RFP response and more, with the ultimate goal of maintaining a world class customer experience.
Recommend and design email and data security solutions and assist in the building and delivery of customer sales presentations.
Share and relay experiences and customer feedback to Product Management, Marketing and Product Development (Engineering) teams to help our tradition of continuous improvement.
Keeping up-to-date with industry news, latest threats and trends and product updates and actively sharing knowledge with the rest of the team.
Work closely with Proofpoint’s Distributors and Resellers on technical enablement and specific sales opportunities.
What you bring to the team
Experience in cyber-security is preferred, especially in a technical sales, sales engineering or technical support role.
Fluency in English is required for this position, any other language skills are considered as an advantage.
Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation and negotiation skills.
Knowledge or experience managing or implementing enterprise email solutions such as Exchange or a good knowledge of SMTP or other IT/Cyber security background.
Some knowledge of or experience in administering or deploying Firewalls, IPS/IDS, Web Proxy/SWG, Sandboxing, Cloud Security.
An understanding of various web and network protocols including SMTP, LDAP, HTTP, TCP and more.
A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
CISSP or other industry certification an advantage but not required.
