The Data Engineer will drive the development and delivery of advanced analyses, tools, and insights to optimize AbbVie UK’s Commercial initiatives. They will curate content which supports key business initiatives that support our ambition of Winning with Data. They will participate in the acquisition, cataloging, and harmonisation of information aligned with the needs of business stakeholders, supporting them in understanding information context, generating fit for purpose datasets, and effectively utilizing advanced analytic tools. They will communicate a vision and strategy for innovative data solutions that engages business partners and support data-driven insights to the business to drive action
Uses strong analytical awareness to align and mobilise a variety of datasets which effectively answer business challenges E.g. patient, sales and activity data
Stays informed of healthcare industry trends and developments
Understands AbbVie’s Commercial strategies and their alignment to the healthcare environment
Engages internally and externally to keep informed and promotes the use of latest technology and tools
Identifies new opportunities to use innovative analytics tools to support business strategy
Deep understanding of the capability of data modelling and analytics tools and how these can be leveraged to offer value to the business
Responsible for data ingestion, automation and quality control
Responsible for testing, error handling and resolution
Data Transformation & Visualisation
Provides consulting services to the business around the provision and understanding of data sets
Data ingestion and governance responsibility for a variety of data sets including patient, activity and sales data used by Finance, Business Analytics, SalesForce Effectiveness and Commercial teams
Responsible for managing the delivery of ad-hoc data requests
Responsible for the construction of repositories with support the integration and alignment of new data sets
Responsible for system and process documentation
Responsible for liaising with and managing relationship between data providers
Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with business customers
Prioritizes projects to deliver the most value
Responsible for working closely with Customer Excellence functions IT (Local, WEC and Global), BI, Finance and commercial functions to ensure strategic alignment across the business
Responsible for working in partnership with Customer Insight partners
Deep understanding of patient data in relation to Biologics
Knowledge and Experience:
Educated to Degree level or with established development skills/experience using Python, PySpark, SQL, Big Data experience (Palantir preferred)
Data Architecture background preferred.
Data Management best practice, including Data Lifecycle Management across Core IT & Big Data ecosystems as well as Data Privacy & Security constraints
Knowledge and previous experience in Data Modelling
Focuses on end user and customer centricity
Passion for learning new tools, languages and frameworks
A good level of knowledge of enterprise CRM systems (such as Veeva) and analytical dashboarding systems (such as QlikSense)
