Working as a member of the Data Centre Technical Assurance Team, take responsibility for maintaining the Technical Infrastructure within the NPS data centres. To be responsible for regulating the control systems and documentation around the technical infrastructure and to be a point of contact for Project Managers when moving equipment in and out of the data centres.
This role will also be involved with the management of NPS internal infrastructure within the data centres and extending into the NPS office locations.
Responsibilities will include:
Maintain and develop Technical Documentation required to support and control the technical infrastructure within the data centres
Liaise closely with our sub-contractors and third parties to maintain the technical infrastructure within the data centre
Take responsibility for ensuring that the Rack Plan, Network Port Plan, Compute and Storage Capacity reports, Hardware support schedules, DR schedules and documentation are all maintain and kept up to date
Creating and processing requests for data centre access/installation/removals/deliveries/collections/permit to work
Assisting and maintaining the Procurement of all existing and new contracts relating to data centres, Storage and Telecom providers
Maintain excellent working relationships with NPS Support Teams, TDA Teams and Security Teams
Take responsibility for the NPS internal infrastructure within the data centres and assist where required with NPS environments within the NPS offices
Chaperone third parties into NPS data centres for IT Health Checks and installations/removal/maintenance of equipment activities
Collating information for monthly and annual Microsoft SCE and SPLA licensing reports
Working to contracted SLA’s
Monitor procedures, review and update as necessary. Identify and produce new procedures as appropriate
Be involved in any other business activities as required
Work at other NPS locations and client sites if required
Experience of working with extended teams both on shore and off shore
Strong interpersonal/team skills
An adaptable attitude, wanting to provide a good service
Excellent planning and organisation skills
Excellent communication and client facing/customer service skills
Knowledge of MS Office - all current versions
Security clearance held or ability to gain Security Clearance in addition to Baseline Personnel Security Standard
Full, current driving licence
Experience of working with Tier 3 Data Centre technical infrastructure
