We have an exciting opportunity for two Maintenance Engineers (with an electrical bias) to be based at our site in Burton Upon Trent. The site operates with a sector leading mixture of robotic and human labour to deliver exceptional customer service to our globally recognised brand.
The main purpose of the role is to provide a first-class maintenance service including; all round general building maintenance (external and internal) maintain preventative maintenance schedules, fault resolution (plant and equipment), increase asset uptime and maintain automated materials handling equipment e.g. robots, conveyors.
Although the role is predominantly based around a Monday – Friday pattern, this site operates 7 days per week, 24 hours a day, therefore a flexible approach to working hours is essential in order to ensure that any major breakdowns or disruptions to service are minimised through call out.
Key Accountabilities of the role
Carry out site equipment repairs and modifications to plant as necessary
Ensure all items of plant operate efficiently and safely through proactive and reactive maintenance
Be responsible for general site and buildings maintenance
Provide support and engineering expertise to the site operation through implementation of proactive planned preventative maintenance
Carry out all engineering disciplines using best Health and Safety / Safe Working Practices and engineering practices
Identify opportunities of improvement that will benefit the system function in terms of performance, hygiene, safety, efficiency and provide a cost benefit
Accurately record all data that is required for systems analysis and reporting and document what repairs have been affected to correct any issues
Ensure all plant is maintained in accordance with the approved maintenance schedules and training provided
Fault escalation is communicated using experience to give estimated time of recovery, providing regular updates with progress
What we’re looking for
A recognised apprenticeship within an engineering discipline / Electrically qualified / 5 years experience
Experience working with robots / robot management systems (Hikvision)
Experience of conveyors and sorters (dematic, lb foster, caljan)
PLC systems experience
Experience of working in a large, busy operation ideally within a logistics environment
Excellent communication skills
A tenacious multi-tasker with the ability to work under pressure and to deliver against tight deadlines
This role will require occasional travel to other Clipper sites / possible international travel and so a Full Clean driving license / passport is essential
