The Norfolk Local Government team in WSP are seeking a Principal / Senior Drainage Engineers to join our fast-growing team providing drainage services for WSP and our Norfolk County Council Client based in Norwich.
A typical week would include:
Being an integral part of the team providing support both locally within the Norfolk West Area and around the country
Helping to deliver highway projects and Developer checks
Helping to deliver a broad range of water environment services for Norfolk County Council.
Promoting sustainable flood risk management
Ensuring that flood risk betterment opportunities are considered throughout the planning process
Providing technical advice and guidance to influence planning policies
Liaising with Local Planning Authorities, County Council teams, developers and their consultants and other stakeholders
Our projects range in size from smaller local authority development to large scale national projects including those delivered.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
The successful candidates should have achieved (or be close to achieving) Chartered status with CIWEM or the ICE and have technical expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas:
Environmental Impact and Water Framework Directive assessment;
Flood Risk Assessment;
Fluvial hydraulic modelling;
River engineering and scour assessment;
Sustainable surface water drainage design.
Planning applications and policies
The candidates will be responsible for technical, management and commercial aspects of projects. Experience of working with local authorities and rail/highway projects would be highly advantageous.
