Provide support as required to the construction team reporting directly to the Project Field Engineer. The Survey Field Engineer will be responsible to coordinate contractor work for all survey activities on the Gatwick Pier 6 project to include review of completed survey data and contract deliverables to assure technical compliance to contract requirements.
Responsible for coordination and oversight of field survey work to assure all work is performed to safety and quality requirements.
The project involves the extension of existing airport pier facilities, passenger gate lounges/services, creation of additional aircraft stands, taxiway/pavement interfaces and supporting utility provisions, and candidate should have experience of similar scope.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Manage third party survey contract.
Ensure the contractor establishes and/or verifies and maintains the project’s survey control network
Support the implementation/administration of the survey work request program
Review and respond to contractors’ survey related queries and coordinate with Engineering on technical issues.
Conduct field surveillance on survey operations to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
Monitor contractor Quality Control Program and Environmental Compliance Program, this includes site inspection for compliance with Contract Documents, permit and environmental requirements, approved submittals in conformance to codes and contract requirements.
Review contractor survey deliverable (RAMS, Survey reports, survey records, etc.)
Coordinate BIM requirements with contractor and employer
Facilitate coordination of interfacing contractors and project stakeholders.
Review contractor's monthly invoices (as required)
Prepare daily reports on each contractor.
Managing / controlling master utilities plan (transferring survey data into master utility model)
Participate in construction progress meetings.
Maintain project safety awareness and enforce company safety policy and Zero accident Philosophy.
Demonstrated proficiency with Survey CAD software
Experience working with, supervising and administering contractors’ workforce.
Awareness of environmental laws
Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to heavy construction/industrial surveying field & office activities
Working knowledge of Bechtel construction procedures
Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner
Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment, able to formulate a working relationship with survey team members, other departments and contractors
Excellent problem-solving ability
Awareness of government compliance standards
Knowledge and understanding of the application and requirements of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the Bechtel Core Processes as they relate to area of responsibility.
Must have a strong drive toward safety, both on and off the job, a commitment to seeing everyone go home each day as well and healthy as they came to work that day
Familiar with Bechtel’s Business Ethics handbook and policies.
Knowledge of Bechtel quality standards. Must have a solid record of successful project completion with little to zero rework
Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards.
This knowledge is normally gained through:
A recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, OR
Experience as a field engineer, engineer or assistant superintendent leading to an understanding of the technical knowledge described above.

Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS)
Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
Grade 25 - Engineering/Technical degree and 6 years’ experience in heavy construction/ industrial surveying, with at least 2 years’ supervisorial experience or 9 years’ experience (in lieu of a degree)
