The Role – Typical Duties
This is a permanent and full time role.
You will be assisting the Projects Management Team with the design of innovative, high quality, cost effective engineering designs and safe solutions for our clients, being directly responsible to the Head of Projects.
Provide innovative solutions to jacking & skidding projects, incorporating drawings and calculations from initial planning through to completion of projects.
Liaising with client / other stakeholder engineering teams to establish technical scope of works, whilst ensuring we are providing technical solutions in collaboration with client / other stakeholders.
Showing a willingness to understand Collett Heavy Lift specialist equipment (SPMT and jacking / lifting / skidding equipment) the usefulness and applications of the equipment. Offer ideas on improvements, modifications and purchases of existing / new equipment.
Assisting in the production of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), equipment lists, operations programs, and specialist equipment requirements for both proposals and the execution of works whilst ensuring the documentation produced comply with all current statutory regulations, customer and company procedures.

Time management of your own workload within the company’s engineering facility, to ensure all customer and internal project timescales are facilitated.

Qualifications / Experience.
The following requirements are preferred:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Practical application of engineering principles using hand calculations, CAD and computer simulation.
Creative problem solving.
Word and excel skills.
Good communication skills and ability to converse at all levels.
Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
General Office I.T skills.
Full Driving Licence.
Preferred, but not essential
Experience with 3D CAD systems; preferably SolidWorks.
Ideally, some MySQL experience.
Ideally, some programming experience, preferably R.
Previous experience / employment in an associated employment sector.
Temporary Works Co-Ordinator qualification / experience.

Must be available to work away from base at short notice for short periods of time, cope with unconventional working patterns as required.
The role is based primarily at our Goole depot, but flexibility and mobility is required to carry out the task at our other depots and areas of work as dictated by the business needs.
Negotiable remuneration package, subject to qualifications and experience, including, holiday purchase scheme, bonus scheme and contributory pension.
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 08.00hrs to 17.00hrs, with a one-hour unpaid break taken during the day to suit business needs.
As this is a senior management position, some overtime and weekend working is required by the demands of the business.
28 days Holiday per year including Bank Holiday’s.
Overnight subsistence costs are paid when away from base, inline with our HR Policies and procedures.
The appointment will enjoy a varied work load and will have opportunity to help grow and develop their own skills within the Company in the Transport, Heavy Lift and Projects divisions, contributing to the Company’s development and their own prospects for promotion.
