CWST Engineering is offering an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Control System Engineer to work in our office in Newbury, Berks. CWST Engineering is a business unit of CWST and exists to provide an engineering service to our surface technology facilities across the Corporation. This service includes the supply of machinery and equipment, the development of new shot peening techniques, tooling and processing methods and definitive knowledge of dust collection and compressed air systems.
Curtiss-Wright Surface Technologies (“CWST”) is the group name for the collective technical services provided by the legacy companies of Metal Improvement Company(“MIC”), E/M Coating Services, Everlube Products, FW Gartner Thermal Spraying, Para Tech Coating, Component Coating & Repair Services, Bolt’s Metallizing and IMR Test Labs.
With a global network of 74 facilities and on-site field teams, CWST offers its customers a single point of contact for a broad range of surface treatments for their critical components. Flexible processing options including purchase/takeover of customer in-house equipment or establishment of a dedicated Shop-In-Shop are also available.
The equipment and machinery that CWST Engineering provides has a high level of automation and is required to process customer parts with an individual value of anything up to £200,000. The complexity and sophistication of the control systems for these machines must ensure that these parts are guaranteed to process correctly and safely.
The machines use a vast range of engineering solutions (hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, actuators, motors, servos, sensors, etc.) to fulfil the processes and the control systems we design and manufacture interface with every aspect of these.
