About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Site Engineer to join our Regional team to work on civils projects across the Midlands.
To undertake Site Engineering control and implementation of works on site, including monitoring and reporting of progress;
Site engineering is a key part of the delivery of our projects. The increasing role of BIM in our projects it’s use as part of engineering is a key aspect of this role. The site engineer should therefore be technically capable but adaptable to the future changes with BIM, surveying technologies and digital construction.
What you'll be doing
As a Site Engineer, your main responsibilities will be as follows:-
Production of Task Briefing Sheets;
Setting out from primary control provided by others;
Production of as-built drawings & records for every element of the works involved in;
Measures actual materials used and reconciles with theoretical measure, reporting and investigating reasons for differences;
Production of accurate daily diary of resources, including labour, plant, materials, subcontractors and outputs.
Who we're looking for
The following qualifications/experience are essential:-
Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately;
Understands Permit to Dig System;
Setting out techniques – ability to use level & EDM, plus GPS;
Strong understanding of construction tolerances;
Able to take off and schedule material quantities accurately;
Knowledge of specification and contract documents.
