In Serco Health we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our maintenance team onsite at Darent Valley Hospital.
The maintenance team at Serco Health are responsible for multiple areas of maintenance including Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Water and HVAC for example.
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the completion of standard and non-standard activities within your specific mechanical area within the hospital. As the Mechanical Engineer you will work on your own and as an integral member of a team carrying out routine Mechanical PPM and minor repair works. As part of the role you will carry out skilled Mechanical Planned maintenance, repair and improvements including the installation of new plant and equipment when required. The position will need you to have the ability to diagnose and repair faults on systems and plant.
What you’ll need to do the role
First and foremost, you will need to demonstrate experience in working within a previous within a maintenance team as a qualified engineer. This would ideally be in a hospital environment however over complex environments that have required you to work with Mechanical systems or plant including HVAC for example. You must have previous time served in the trade to be able to carry out the required job activity.
To be successful in the role you will either have completed an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering or an Engineering Apprenticeship.
