Duties / Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role):
Conduct Research into industry standards of execution, materials content and best practice Engineering solutions.
Undertake analysis to identify the cultural differences in Perceived Quality across differing global markets.
Support development of Lotus PQ processes & procedures
Conduct Virtual (Studio / Engineering CAD) and physical vehicle assessments during development phases in support of issue management and target tracking; as identified by the PQ Attribute & Programme Leads.
Manage issue tracking documentation with the latest inputs, ensuring status is current and suitable for reporting to key stakeholders.
Manage image reference libraries, edit/collate as required.
Support in the development or reports & presentations.
Provide support to Perceived Quality attribute reviews on Lotus and competitor products, assisting in the sourcing of vehicles and suitable environments as required.
Keep up to date with industry trends / best in class practices.
Support PQ activities with Design, Marketing, Programme and Engineering with the team vision to embed Perceived Quality into every stage of New Product.
Participate in and support the development of Customer Clinics / Satisfaction Surveys and reporting.
Assist with the production approval of parts during early build phases.
Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria)
HNC minimum in an automotive engineering or product design discipline.
Practical and theoretical knowledge of product development.
Experience of product design and development processes.
Contemporary computer skills-set.
Must have an appreciation of Design or engineering development tools and standards.
Analytical, structured, detail focussed, excellent communication skills. Ability to work under own initiative or part of a team
Experience of working with 3D CAD models, Microsoft Office Suite as well as using web research tools
Degree in an automotive engineering, product or Industrial design discipline
Product development experience within a product design or automotive design / engineering environment would be advantageous.
Previous experience conducting research / assessments / benchmarking and report writing.
Good IT presentation skills.
Experience with VR technology would be advantageous.
Knowledge of product / automotive parts assembly / disassembly techniques highly regarded.
Analytical, structured, confident, with excellent communication skills. Ability to work under own initiative or part of a team. The willingness and ability to engage with a broad cross-section of product development disciplines and persons within the organisation.
This role is will be based at Hethel with the potential to work from the Midlands office.
