of Role Purpose:
To lead a group of Specification Engineers to produce manufacturing and purchase specifications for pump assembly manufacture, pump parts manufacture, service centre overhauls and warranty manufacture.
Manage the day to day activities of the Specification Team
Perform annual reviews with Specification Team
Creation and maintenance of aftermarket bills of material comprising of manufacturing and purchase specifications for aftermarket contracts.
Co-ordinate the receipt of customers’ orders through accurate / detailed specifications meeting tight timescales, correct quality standards and customer requirements.
Understanding customer’s needs and requirements, ensuring appropriate action is taken to meet these effectively and to a high standard.
Adapting to changing customer demands and proactively manages workload accordingly.
Ensuring delivery of accurately written Bills of Material in a responsive manner and maintaining work log/records for supporting KPI's.
Interrogating the library of all legacy intellectual property to ensure correct specification of components.
Obtaining various manufacturing details to generate new Material Masters from legacy data.
Communicating / Interfacing with a full range of departments / stakeholders across the business to ensure deadlines are met.
Provide technical support via the SWR System (e.g. supporting Sales, Projects, Field Service & Service Centre's)
Ensuring compliance with latest Material Standards with intention to rationalise as applicable.
Ensuring validity of information and Strict adherence to latest Manufacturing guidelines, identifying and providing latest & up to date purchase specifications from legacy contracts as applicable.
Review clients purchase order against both enquiry & tender documents ensuring that the information is accurate, coordinating any clarifications with relevant stakeholders.
Answering technical queries, post specification, from both internal & external customers.
Investigate both internal & external nonconformance's/queries, liaising with Supply Chain / Quality / Engineering & Customers Satisfaction / Warranty Teams regarding non-conforming parts.
Assisting with Route Cause Analysis
Raising Engineering Change Notes as and when necessary and assist with identifying process improvements.
Coordinate with Engineering Department for creation and approval of drawings incorporating latest design changes / modifications.
Representing Aftermarket Specification during essential forums /exchanges.
Working to priorities as determined by delivery schedules based on customer demand.
Expediting actions from internal and external sources to ensure deadlines are met.
Customers e.g. non-Intellectual property Information requests.

Tendering - advising on corrective actions
Operations - answering technical queries

Experience & Qualifications:
A high level of experience. Ideally a blend of practical and office (computer) based experience. Experience of leading and managing a team of engineers
ONC or HNC in a relevant subject e.g Mechanical Engineering ideally complemented with “hands on” qualifications e.g Apprentice trained engineer.
