We are seeking to recruit a permanent qualified Medical Engineer to support the existing teams working within Clinical Technology. The successful applicant must have an engineering background, specifically with experience in medical engineering and maintenance. The successful applicant must be qualified to a minimum of HNC level, or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject and hold a valid UK manual driving licence.
Applicants who have the relevant qualifications, but not the experience of working in a medical engineering field, may still apply and be considered for appointment as Trainee Clinical Technologist. Training and development will be given to achieve practitioner level via a competency based system.
The department of Clinical Technology provides a comprehensive medical equipment management and maintenance service to the University Hospital of North Midlands (UHNM) and external healthcare bodies. Based at both the Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital sites, the department consists of multidisciplinary teams of medical engineers, including renal, general medical, imaging, critical care and medical gasses, which provide medical equipment maintenance and support to services across the organisation and to other local healthcare providers.
