As a result of our continued growth in the UK, we are looking to recruit a Solar Developer to support the project development team with green field development, acquisitions, business case development and solar project pipeline delivery. The team focuses on wind & solar development in the UK & Ireland. Applicants ideally should have a background in solar project management and GIS with two to three years of relatable work experience. The position is for an immediate start based, location flexible (BayWa offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Milton Keynes) with salary dependent on experience.
Undertake preliminary PV and wind design layouts through specialist software (eg. pvDesign);
Engage with technical team on potential site layouts and initial yield analysis;
Communicate and engage with relevant DNOs and National Grid in relation to spare grid capacity and potential connection opportunities for identifying new sites;
Progress grid applications with in-house technical support;
Communicate and engage with landowners to agree land (heads/option/lease agreements);
Create accurate and professional standard site identification maps and reports which can be implemented into internal project approval presentations;
Develop a template for identified project sites which clearly and concisely contains GIS site investigation results as well as project details including land, planning and grid connection availability;
Attend and grow network at workshops and industry event.

Excellent communication skills, both written (presentations, reports, documents) and spoken;
Excellent commercial insight and researching competencies for assessing new business models and key value drivers of projects;
Building strong, cooperative and productive relationships with the key teams involved in realising projects.
