Would you like to play a key role in our technical drawing office, creating technical drawings in the Forming, Machining and Treatment Areas of the facility? We currently have a vacancy for a CAD Engineer – Mechanical at our site in Washington.
As a CAD Engineer – Mechanical, you will be responsible for supporting both Manufacturing and Engineering programmes in the preparation of product stage drawings and tooling design. You will be a member of a small close-knit team, responsible for the provision of engineering drawings using a CAD design workstation. The work will involve 3D modelling and creation of 2D drawings across hot forming, machining, treatments and bespoke tooling / fixture design.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a varied, challenging and interesting position where you will be able to really develop your skills within the role and make it your own working in a small team.
PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE IS FOR A 1 YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT
Your main responsibilities as a Land will involve:
Creating billet drawings for Bill of Material
Creating and reviewing all technical drawings for both product & manufacturing
Liaising with Manufacturing and Process Engineers to support their process tooling / fixtures and equipment requirements
Investigating process issues with engineers and resolving through innovative design
Being involved in the design review process throughout the product life
Ensuring design for manufacture principles are adhered to
Looking to reduce cost through intelligent design
Your skills and qualifications:
HND or equivalent experience in a Mechanical Engineering discipline
Experience using Siemens NX Software
Previous Drawing Office experience is essential
Experience using Teamcenter
Tooling and design experience
