We are looking to recruit a Head of Change Delivery in a leadership role based at our Leeds office. With this role you would become part of the UK’s largest provider of genuinely free independent debt advice and managed solutions.
Every year we help 650,000 people to resolve their debt problems and rebuild their lives. We employ over 1,500 colleagues and in our 25-year history we’ve helped millions of people on their journey to becoming debt free.
Right now, we’re working to deliver an ambitious four-year strategy which will see us helping more people, responding to changing client needs, and working closely with our partners to reduce the harm of problem debt.
What you will be doing
This is a crucial role in determining the success of our growth plans. Within this role you would work with the charity’s IT Department reporting to our Chief Information Officer.
Create and lead high performing teams comprising of Delivery Managers, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Testers and Developers
Work collaboratively with all StepChange SLT members to ensure visibility and accountability across the change portfolio
Understand, build and maintain the overall StepChange delivery portfolio and manage the risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies across the portfolio. Ensuring that corrective action is taken where necessary and that appropriate escalation and approvals are obtained.
Lead the software development, testing and project management functions to strengthen our capabilities to better drive charity wide technological transformation
Manage third party relationships that are critical to the delivery with strong supplier management focus and a drive to build partnerships with key suppliers that will provide value to StepChange and its clients
Work with the Head of IT Governance on the joint development of a Change Management Framework ensuring seamless transition from design stage to implementation and run stages.
Build a suitable team structure that aligns with the requirements of the charity to deliver change efficiently
Lead the development, maintenance and implementation of training and development to strengthen and build upon the core technical competencies of the team.
Experience and knowledge
PRINCE/APMP qualification (Desirable)
Proven experience of building and leading large change teams
Proven knowledge of agile processes and their practical application into organisations
Proven knowledge of Waterfall/iterative models and their appropriate blending to support delivery
Excellent coaching and mentoring skills with examples of success
