More about the role
You will have responsibility for the overall architecture and strategic technical direction for the Digital Workplace Domain. Bridging technology and business, and working in harmony with Product Managers and Engineers, you will work to align the business and IT strategy roadmaps to ensure effective delivery benefits our customers and maintains the overall effectiveness of our enterprise IT estate. You will be part of the Digital Workplace Tech junior leadership team and report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager.
What you will be doing
Support the Senior Engineering Manager by developing and communicating the overall Architecture vision and strategy for the Digital Workplace domain.
Working with the broader architecture community across other domains to create an overall Sainsburys Tech Future State Landscape and associated roadmap.
Be a recognised domain architect with overall accountability for the Digital Workplace domain
Provide leadership support for the other architects within the Digital Workplace domain.
Be a trusted adviser for the Digital Workplace domain leadership team and senior business stakeholders
Contribute to the wider Architecture community and drive the adoption of principles, frameworks and guiderails that help define how we implement and use technology across the company.
Identification and assessment of emerging technologies and techniques, communicating these to the broader team.
Drives the adoption of the Technology Principles and guardrails across Sainsbury’s Tech and the wider business
What we’re looking for
A great communicator and negotiator, influencing others to reconcile conflicting concerns of different stakeholders within the Digital Workplace domain and the broader Sainsbury’s Tech organisation.
You will have contributed to the overall direction of an architecture practice in an agile environment, constantly testing and checking that the approaches taken support the overall strategic aims of our organisation to deliver business outcomes ever faster.
Relevant experience with technologies in the Digital Workplace domain such as End User Compute, Collaboration Tools, Identity Management and AD design. Knowledgeable with the full Microsoft O365 suite.
Recognised Professional Certification such as BCS or IEE certification and Architectural recognition form an external body such as TOGAF or the BCS is desirable
A credible, recognised authority on the overall architecture of the domain by both the business and Sainsbury’s Tech stakeholders
An ability to quickly gain the confidence of the business and colleagues through super communication, networking and influencing skills, simplifying complex technical messages
Finally, we’d also like you to be yourself – unique, analytical, curious and unafraid to challenge the status quo.
Knowledge around DevOps and tooling is desirable
