Risk Engineer, Edinburgh, Competitive Salary & Benefits
Join us as a Risk Engineer and be a core member of our EDF Renewables (EDF-R) team based in Edinburgh, we are offering an opportunity to reinforce the NnG Project Control Team on a full time basis as we enter the construction phase of this project. Reporting directly to the Risk Manager, you will work closely with the full project team to strengthen the risk management process and to support the successful delivery of the project.
With a curious and detailed oriented mind-set, you will combine your communication and analytical skills to maintain and promote a proactive risk management culture within the project. To help achieve this you will obtain a full and comprehensive view of the project from start to finish and work in collaboration with all teams members (technical, offshore construction, commercial, legal, consent) to provide detailed analysis to the project management and support the decision making process.
The Risk Engineer will drive the delivery of:
Assisting the Risk Manager to establish and implement an overall risk management process.
Supporting the risk reporting by processing and extracting risk information, organise and run specific in-depth risk Workshops as required.
Maintaining Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Register up to date, run Quantitative Risk Analysis.
Assess risk with risk owner’s including identifying, describing and quantifying the risks.
Supporting the promotion of Risk Management in the team.

Supporting the development of specific Risk Mitigation Plan with risk owners you will meet deadlines spanning multiple and complex projects. You will be an accomplished Risk Engineer who can engage with Risk Owners on a monthly basis to register new risk and update existing risks profiles including identifications of risk interdependencies.
Degree in Engineering/Science (e.g. MEng, Dipl. Ing., MSc) or Business Administration or appropriate professional qualification – masters preferred.
Ideally 1-3 year of experience in oil and gas, renewable energy or infrastructure projects with knowledge of statistics.
Numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to details.
Good communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
Proficient IT skills (MS Office Suite with good knowledge of Excel, VBA or equivalent programming language)
Ideally, experience with risk or other risk management software.
Ideally, knowledge of project management (project planning, risk management, cost control)
