Role Summary
The Controls Engineer will be responsible for all automation / control systems within the Paint line, supporting Maintenance in resolving issues, working on system improvements and upgrades and ensuring all systems are fit for purpose. Key Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for control systems within the Paint Line including modification and CI activities to improve performance
Supporting all Maintenance functions across the departments
Support and assist Maintenance in troubleshooting and resolving breakdowns and equipment failures
Provide technical expertise in all control related activities
Implement and manage optimisation and continuous improvement of all control systems
Develop and maintain documentation for changes to programs
Ensure electrical drawings are up to date
Modify programs as required and ensure back up files are maintained
Work as part of a team within the Maintenance Department to implement and upkeep of IATF16949 procedures, Work Instructions, Control Plans and process flows etc.
Implementation of Continuous Improvement activities
Support new product introduction/launch teams
Ensure all HS&E requirements are adhered too including risk assessments and completion of accident/incident reports
Preparation of detailed reports or figures as required including performance KPI’S Key Qualifications/Requirements
Experience of PLC programming on Allen Bradley
Knowledge of Robotics – Fanuc preferred
Knowledge of Robotic Paint department processes
Analytical and problem-solving skills in automated environment
HMI programming experience
Ability to lead and support key projects within Paint
Good understanding of Health and Safety requirements within a manufacturing environment
Good understanding of QS / IATF / and ISO requirements
Must possess good forms of communication both written and verbal
Awareness of 5S disciplines (preferred)
