About the Role
Working with the relevant Senior Engineer, The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the development and improvement of existing manufacturing systems, procedures and equipment in a dynamic manufacturing environment, working to set timelines.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Plan, co-ordinate and implement the most efficient and cost-effective production methods required to manufacture fabricated components to supply the sub and main assembly lines.
Co-ordination of Production, Engineering and Quality Assurance Departments to establish/implement containment and route cause fixes to manufacturing issues.
Drawing pack creation & maintenance in conjunction with Engineering Change Orders & New Product Development.
Production support to resolve queries/issues raised by fabricators.
Implementing best practice standard work onto shop floor.
Liaise with cross functional departments e.g. supply chain, engineering, quality
Implement Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S, Poke Yoke, Problem Solves
Ensure current processes and all new processes encompass safe working practices
Production support to the Fabrication Department
Jig/Fixture design & implementation

Minimum HNC / HND Engineering Qualification or demonstrate extensive relevant knowledge through on job experience.
Knowledge of Machine Shop and Fabrication would be advantageous
Experience of 3D modelling software would be advantageous
Ability to work under pressure
Good organisational skills
Logical & Methodical approach to problem solving
Ability to work with others to meet deadlines
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle) would be advantageous
Competent in use of Microsoft packages
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
Excellent multi-tasking & attention to detail skills
