An opportunity has arisen for an environmental engineer to join our Real Estate and Infrastructure business.
This role will be part of the Capita Environment flooding team and will involve the following: Working on projects to enhance the local environment, identifying sources of contamination or flooding and assessing the adverse impact on the environment; advising on and providing solutions for mitigating the effects of such; preparing and supporting business cases for works to protect the environment
You will contributing to the design of environmental projects including hydraulic systems, sewerage systems, flood defences, roads and ancillary structures etc;
Carrying out environment-related desk-based research and fieldwork to collect, analyse and interpret data to determine their validity, quality and significance;
Contributing to environmental audits and environmental impact assessments;
Assisting with project plans, determining work schedules, carrying out project audits;
Carrying out inspection work and planned maintenance control;
Assisting organisations to conduct their activities in an environmentally appropriate manner;
Providing advice on regulatory and legislative standards, guidelines and policies;
Working with local authorities and national environmentally based organisations.
Masters degree in a suitable related subject;
Experience in preparing environmental business plans;
Experience working on the feasibility and design of environmental flood projects;
Experience carrying out and recording surveys;
Commitment to obtaining chartership with documented progress towards this;
Good team player with good communication skills (English).
Demonstrate asset management and inspection capabilities;
Specialist confined access training.
