Principle Engineer – Data Analytics
To deliver technical expertise and thought leadership to support service delivery, operational capability and product development.

This role provides 3rd line support to the SMART Network Management Centre and Service desk for the delivery and maintenance of reports, toolsets and OSS platforms part of the CSPN SMART Solution delivered for DCC.
This role is systems monitoring and data analytics related, and requires the individual to develop, install and maintain a range of applications and software to meet customer and business requirements and quality standards. Requirement is to provide a transparent view of CSPN End to End performance and improve availability of datasets which can enhance monitoring and triage capabilities.
This will include:
IP data streams - Customers data, management data,
OSS traffic, Traps and community polling data
BSS: all traffic related to PM reports and remedy
The role is required to provide in-depth application and systems support, which will entail:
Process monitoring & trouble shooting
Connectivity configuration and trouble-shooting
Design, operate and troubleshoot OSS solutions
Log file trouble shooting and data extraction
Linux Server trouble shooting and stats/resource analysis
Knowledge of Vrops and VSphere
Exposure to scalable distribution systems (SPLUNK)
Script writing skills to be able to extract data from log files
Sever and data trending for HA model
Ability to write SQL queries
OSS configuration experience Comarch
KPI configuration management principles
Test and release experience
Experience with Scripting and Automation (Bash, Ansible)
Provide user training of new products and customisations
As well as promoting, developing, and testing longer term strategies for the extraction and manipulation of network statistics and messages, there is a need to support triage activities, demanding quick solutions with tight timescales and under pressure
This role will analyse and determine processes that drive continuous improvement, identify and resolve complex problems experienced in processes, applications or software and recommend appropriate resolutions. Whilst also providing technical leadership and guidance across the business, acting as point of contact for escalated issues
There will be a rota based 'on call' requirement, part of which will be to provide assistance for areas outside the requirements of this role. So a willingness and ability to learn the functions of associated roles from within the team is required.
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum of 3 Years' experience in using Linux in a business/operations context
Minimum of 3 years’ experience of 2nd / 3rd line support activities
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in dealing with complex process management activities
Understanding of ITL processes·
Ability to communicate effectively in writing, face-to-face and over telephony
