The ideal Controls Engineer will also work closely alongside the production and manufacturing departments and provide technical support as required. The candidate should be familiar with specifying drive control systems, industrial PC’s, safety PLC’s, safety related parts of controls systems, inverters etc. It is also expected that the Electrical Controls Engineer will ensure compliance with all design, regulatory, and test requirements and be knowledgeable with AutoCad Mech/Elec/ Eplan and Microsoft software packages.
Provide technical support and best practice concerning industrial panel design.
Ensuring compliance with design & test requirements.
Developing test rigs, models, and prototype control systems.
Representing controls engineering in HRA’s
Representing controls with high profile customers, maintaining a professional approach.
Attending Site UK and World Wide sometimes with short notice.
Generating Safety Buy Off documents.
Creating calculations to BS EN 13849 and a good understanding of 60204.
HNC/HND or degree qualified in Electrical Engineering
Experience with automation, product handling, or special-purpose machinery
Previous experience in a design engineering role
Working understanding of wiring diagrams & control packages
Reading and understanding design specifications and technical drawings
Experienced in the use of AutoCad Mech/Elec/ Eplan and Microsoft software packages
Project Managing experience
Full UK driving license
Experience in design and overseeing the production of many types of complex systems and equipment
Hydraulic & Pneumatics systems
