Bio-Techne is a world-leading developer and manufacturer of high-quality biological reagents and is seeking a scientific technical writer to join our dynamic Marketing team in Bristol, home of the Tocris Brand. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing engaging and informational scientific copy for print and digital marketing materials and for the Bio-Techne and Tocris websites. The role will also require contributing content for various marketing campaigns and to organise exhibitions and represent the company at industry trade shows. We are looking for a self-driven and enthusiastic individual, with keen attention to detail, who will thrive in our fast-paced environment.
Write new product descriptions, pharmacologically categorize new products, and assist with the maintenance of scientific content on the Bio-Techne and Tocris websites
Write and commission scientific copy for marketing materials, including product brochures, life science posters, scientific reviews and promotional flyers
Compose content for marketing campaigns, including e-alerts and other promotional materials
Review and proofread new website content and marketing materials
Liaise with the product management team to devise and produce technical material
Collaborate with other Bio-Techne brand marketing and product management teams to cross sell the brands’ different product lines via a range of marketing materials
Organize logistics and equipment, travel, literature and any other required arrangements for exhibiting at shows. Be accountable for pre- and post-shows marketing activities as required.
Represent Bio-Techne and the Tocris brand at industry tradeshows
Maintain a scientific appreciation of the Bio-Techne product range and marketplace
Education and Experience:
BSc to Ph.D. level in a Life Science discipline (Ph.D. would be preferred).
Scientific background in Biomedical/Pharmacological sciences required
Technical (scientific) copy writing/editing and excellent written and spoken English
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environment to set deadlines
Excellent time management, organization, negotiation, problem solving and interpersonal skills
Competent in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of Adobe design software would be advantageous
In order to qualify for this position, you will need to be authorised to live and work in the UK. A passport and full driver’s license are required. Occasional out of hours work (including weekend work) is required as the role involves domestic and international travel (mainly related to conferences and tradeshows).
